AT LAST!

I think I mentioned some time ago something about some projects I’m preparing. Yes, I know, I could be called queen of vagueness :)

And now, the time has come to finally show you what the hell I was talking about. It’s my Dear Deer project. Why Tanja, what is Dear Deer? I’m glad you asked. It’s my own page I created to put on display my works, broches, rings, hair clips, and stickers for clothes. For now :)

So here’s the link, I hope you’ll like it. Well, I hope you’ll love it!

and I digress..

So I’ve been waiting for NY Fashion week to start as anxiously as they come. And of course yesterday (I was originally writing this on Thursday) I jumped on Vogue page to see the latest shows. I was pleasantly surprised. Usually I wait for FW like a little child waits for Christmas and, as most of little children (at least in the former Yugoslavia part – hahahah, bad joke), I’m a bit disappointed. So I’ve developed a form of thinking where I convince myself that it is better not to have too great expectations – ‘No shit, Jessica Fletcher!’ said mr. Dickens to.. well.. Jessica Fletcher. But I digress..
What I wanted to say is: I really liked Rachel Comey’sready-to-wear collection.
(damn, right now, I’m writing this on a piece of paper as a note, and I’m completely dyslexic. Thanks whoever for the autocorrect!)
I won’t go into details with the collection itself because honestly, probably every slightly fashion-connected blog/wlog/whatever is doing the reviews of fw ATM. I have a much more delightful agenda on my mind ;)
Yes, Rachel Comey I liked. I just might want to add I’ve never really followed what RC does or even who the hell she is. Never mind though.
Now here’s the part I really wanted to write about.
Oh, before I start, just one more thing, I promise. I can’t decide if I loved or hated Givenchy’s nose thingies. I guess I liked it, but not in ‘oh, it’s so couture, you’re not supposed to get it!’ way, but mainly because the guys really kind of reminded me of some modern interpretation of an ancient breed of matadors. Which is sexy in a way. Not the actual bull fighting way – I really dislike the treatment towards the bulls. But these matadors seem out of time, somewhat animalistic themselves. Like they respect the Bull above all. And that they could feel with the Bull. When the battle starts, it’s not man vs. animal. It’s the course of nature and for a moment they are one. Equal. Only faith will decide who will win. And THAT makes them noble. As for those few girls in the show.. I mean, is there a sexier thing than a woman in such brutal mens world? Fighting for existence, equality. To me it is power of life in its purest form. But of course this may be only my imagination and Givenchys intention really was just to shock and make you feel inadequate for not understanding this. Beats me.
I guess this pretty much makes my dilemma non existing. I didn’t like the show, I loved it. If it’s for the ‘right’ reasons or not I don’t actually care. I believe in my interpretation and that is what I like in fashion. You can always interpret it your own way. Even thinking as a designer – yeah, I do that too, I’m a crafty b*tch (on that note – I have a bunch of things I want to say about f****** peplums – but that’s another story) I don’t mind if someone interprets my work differently than I fist imagined. Sure it’s great if they ‘get you’. Hell, great is an understatement of universal proportion in this case. It is undescribable. That you do something and people not only response to you but they understand, and then just maybe even like!
But of course it is not always so. Still I believe it can be just as rewarding to give someone something that means something to them. You can call me a soft-hearted sucker who cares about world and is into giving and karma and what not, but what can I say, that is me.
Oh my, do I sound cheesy! I hope I’ll figure out something different to write until I’m supposed to post this (I didn’t).
Guess what! I don’t think I’ll write about the thing I primarily wanted! Sorry! You’ll just have to stick around for next post. Muahahahhah – that would be my poor impression of an evil laugh. Yeah..

ps. Sorry for no-photos post.. It's jsut that I really don't have much time right now to 'save-repost' all the pictures I wanted so I just put links to the shows.. Hope you don't mind***

SORRY

Sorry. I know I’m the worst. It’s just that so much has happened and there’s so little time. And I’m preparing some huge projects. Hope I’ll be able to tell more soon.

Here’s just a little song I’m obsessed with lately :)

No need to mention that the video is magical, right??

WOOPSY DAISY

People who know me, know I’m more of a city girl, not really big on nature. It’s not that I don’t like nature, it’s more that nature hates me. Really. I went camping one time with friends. I had to go home early coz some bug had bitten me and I got an infection on my foot and I couldn’t walk for three days. So it’s kinda of big deal for me that in the past week I went in the wood three times! First two times I went on Rožnik. That’s a hill on the side of Ljubljana. Everybody knows it and it’s embarrassing for me that I needed 5 years of living in Ljubljana to go up the hill for the first time. And today I went in the woods with my mom to gather some chestnuts. And boy did we get lucky. We gathered total of 11,5 kg! That’s 25 pounds! Dude! That’s a lot!
This is not actually our pic. But it's pretty :)

But when we got back, I was hammered! I was so tired. So first thing I did was take a loooooong shower. Then I went to my bedroom and just chill and watch an episode of Mad Men. And then, Ozi joined me. She’s been such a cuddly machine since Matic left I almost can’t comprehend. Here are some shots of her, how cozy she can get with me :)

I completely forgot about one more piece of present/bon voyage bag for my darling Matic. I got him slippers :) I knew he always liked those goofy Homer Simpson ones.

And I really really wanted to give him those, but they didn’t have them in his size (big foots) so I got him Bart instead :) he was pleased nonetheless.

YOU FARE WELL IN STORMY WEATHER

..as Anthony would put it.

If you didn’t guess yet – my love is gone. He went on one year student exchange to Liechtenstein. Of course it isn’t that far, but we decided we won’t spend money on visits because we are planning a trip to NYC in the summer. So better to work hard so we could play harder? Something like that. Anyways, if you’re interested in regular posts about Liechtenstein, here’s his blog.

But this won’t be a post about my whining about that he is gone. No, no. This will be about how awesome I am :) as a girlfriend. I know how modest this sounds (eighties feel channeling in 3..2..1..).. NOT! But I feel pretty darn good about how I’ve handled myself the last few days. Instead of crying every 5 seconds (did plenty of that in last month. Plenty!) I took the productive way. I organized a go away party (which was not a complete success but it was really nice). And this was the invitation:
It says: Matic is going (without Tanja-me) to Liechtenstein!
And the muffins (well, small portion of them anyways). I only 'decorated' these few, so I showed I can, but the reast were plain and healthy. And with no lactose (I'm intolerant).
banana + chocolate, strawberry + vanilla, apricot + ginger

Then I came up with a list of things I knew he wouldn’t remember to pack. So a day before leaving I gave him a ‘bon voyage’ pack. It contained:
-        Fonsy shmonsy black tea (vanilla orchid) – coz he doesn’t drink coffee, and coz vanilla supposedly makes you feel in love :)
-           Fonsy shmonsy thingy that you put the tea in so it drains in water? So not good at explaining this.. here it is!

-           Special edition of moleskine planner
Pacman FTW!

-           Sewing kit (if he loses a button)
-           Post its – so he can claim his territory
-           Plastic hangers for towels
-           Diy key chain – coz he’s getting new keys there
What's new pussycat?
Baby got back!
See the little pink cross? It's the fanny! :)

-           Ear plugs + big black (manly) sleeping mask – coz he has a roommate
-           Diy laundry hamper
It's actually pretty big, it's just folded here.

Pretty cool pack, no? If you’re thinking I forgot to put my picture in there – don’t worry. I’ve made him a special cube for his bday. It was this cube with our pictures (so 6 pictures) but you could start opening it and re-designing it so 3 more pictures appear (larger). Pretty cool.
I think he was happy about the whole thing. He even promised that when I’ll be moving to my exchange town (next year – Milan, Italy) he’ll pay for the van – coz I haz so many things :)

Honey, if you’re reading this – I luvz u!! kiss kiss***

Ms. Henrietta Berlioz the First (and the last)

Quite some time ago I promised you a sublime version of compilation photos of my beloved cat, Ms. Henrietta Berlioz the First. And the last, because she’s sterilized so.. no kittens for our family. And here it is. Ozi in all her glory. Enjoy!

Ozi, just a week old! And still blind!Oh, and don't worry.. this is not my man hand. It's my bf :)

Awww.. take a look at this cuteness.. covering her eyes with her paw..

Strolling on a beam in our apartment.. she does that often.
For some strange reason she loves to sleep on clothes.. it doesn't always go well for her.
When she was still with her two brothers (Geri-the black one, T-bone, the tiger) and her grandmother Greta (her mom Liza wasn't too fond of them)
Yeah.. not so surprising once you get to know her.
I really don't like when she goes to the roof, because she can get hurt.. and because she always messes up the wall underneath the window. So there she is.. looking like'woot??'
Picture of her heiny :) from the bottom of the glass window.
 Posing like she knows how.
And blessing me with a glance. And I just know she's thinking 'this is SO pedestrian' :)
The two loves of my life.
Silly cat.. fell alseep while watching TV.
I got her a custom made bed from the same material that my couch spread is made (ok, my mom made it for her) and she loves to ravish it and THEN sleep in it..
Kinda makes me think she wants to go shopping.
I know it's bad quality photo, but if you actually see her.. it's pretty cool.
Yeah.. us two. I know I know I look completely ritardet here, with one of my boobs up and one down.. but I still love the photo.
And this one I think totally captures her personality :)
