By now we all have probably heard B’s ‘why don’t you love me?’. I have to say I wasn’t always her fan. Especially when she was a part of Destiny’s Child. At the time I thought she was totally neurotic/spastic/attention stealing singer in a group which above all produced music that was not exactly my cup of tea. But it turned out she just needed a solo career. If you’re wondering, this will not be about Beyonce, don’t worry. But I do have to say I’m in love with her before mentioned video. Especially the part when she’s on the phone with all her rings. And here’s where my story begins.
Even when I was just a small girl, when my fashion philosophy was consisted with one basic thought: skirt, I always loved some BlingBling. I remember my mom used to buy me rings on a market. Very flashy very small (for small fingers) very fake-gold looking and very cheap. But I loved them. ‘The more the merrier’ always seemed to be my moto. As I grew older I started disliking the yellow color of gold, so for my bday or something equally festive I started getting presents made of white gold which I do prefer even now. Needless to say those presents weren’t exactly flashy cocktail rings but still I care for them very much. But I do like them pretty big ones. So I set up to buy some fakes. You can hardly imagine my surprise when I got to pretty known chain of accessorize store and asked bout cocktail rings and the lady in store didn’t know to what I was referring to. But she was kind of young so I thought maybe she really doesn’t know. And you certainly can’t image my surprise when I checked almost every store possibly related to accessorizing and no one knew what I’m looking for. For all they knew I wanted something like this:
which i totally do adore, altough i have to say not your ordinary cup of martini ;) |
I did manage to score some pretty cool rings at the end and didn’t get too cashed out. It was just my fascination with their lack of knowing what is going on right now. I don’t want to sound bitchy but the truth is if I’d ask my bf what I cocktail ring is and he wouldn’t know.. I wouldn’t blame him. But if you work in a I-don’t know about the world, but certainly Europe – spread chain of stores, specializing in accessorize in the peak of cocktail ring frenzy and you don’t know what a cocktail ring is, well, I kinda resent you. Or at least I imagine that it’s only the result of my good manners that I don’t snap at your ignorance and demand you get fired for incompetence in the store! But I digress..
I just wanted to share some really nice samples for the rings I found on the net. And the best part is most of the stores actually sell them at really affordable prices. Of course ‘them’ being the cheaper/fake version of these ones.

So my dear followers, wear them! And you don’t need a special occasion to do so! Trust me. I like to add them to my day-to-day wardrobe even if it might don’t seem like the first choice you’d make – pictures coming next time – as I said, I’m sick and even I’m not that excited to be wearing them when I can barely eat solid food. So this goes to all you healthy ones out there. Even though they’re not expensive or real or even worthy being mentioned near the pear/diamond section – they do make you feel better. Just a bit special. And there’s nothing wrong with that if anything, it’s welcomed!
Take care of you and your blings
Love,
Ajolina
