The Big Change

So I've moved to Milan, Italy for a year. Surprise!

I didn't talk much (or at all) about it before, cause I didn't want to jinx it. But now I'm here and the revision of first impressions are due. And before I start.. there are some thanks in order..

It started last Friday. I met up with one of my most talented and generous friends I have - NinaK. She gave me the cutest gift imaginable -

for non-slovenian readers, it says: Tanja is going to the big boot (you know.. Italy is shaped like an enormous boot)

And that's just the wrapping! :) for the insides to be understandable I must show you this pic first.

It's my beloved cat Ozi, who I sadly couldn't take with me for this year (she's in the best hands tho.. my moms) leisurely stretching on my new luggage I bought for moving.

So what Nina gave me, was this:

italian phrases with pronunciation and on the inside her drawing of my luggage :)
and this:

it says: If you gonna miss your Ozi too much, here's one you can pin on your heart.

Of course she made everything herself. Now you see why I said 'the most talented'? :)
ps. she has her own page on facebook --> Handmade sweetheART
I hope she doesn't mind me advertising her like that :)

Then on Friday night I went out to my favorite club in Ljubljana - K4 which I recommend if visiting Lj. I met up with some of my other friends which was sooper nice (and i got some more gifts of which I can't put pics on - bottle of bubbly, choklits and such, because they no longer exist) :) I did get the weirdest bill in the club tho

No, i did not buy weed.

So the next morning I woke up and went home to mom and dad. Mom made the most delicious lunch for me and my closest friends. And they got me.. books :) people who actually know me, know I'm a huge nerd. I love to read. I even have a Goodreads account (the only one from my company of friends.. which is kinda sad I guess)

I got Jamie Oliver , 50 shades of gray (which was accompanied with a speech how this can be my back up plan if I don't meet anybody hot here) and Genesis. For me.. best gifts I could imagine.

And from my big sis I got some spending money, which is of course always welcomed :)

Then on Sunday my parents drove me here for which I am grateful so much that words can't describe.

Now I'm here and I love it. This week went by in a blur with all the settling in and what not so I don't have any material of the place I'm staying and the city itself. You can expect update in days to come. For now I'll just say that I'm pleased with everything. Happy camper in general :)
